![]() ![]() GX made a LARGE amount of direct references to DM. It might be easier to understand if there were more hints throughout the series. I honestly think this tell us that, following clues from statues, technology and just things characters say, the timeline goes like this: The world got so obsessed with inventing new stuff, they made motorcycles that you can duel on. ![]() This is likely following through from Zexal, where technology was a big thing, kinda like current times. Technology advanced to such a state that, yes, card games on motorcycles WERE entirely possible. ![]() Like ‘em or hate 'em, Duel Runners are a thing. Why is this important? It brings us to 5Ds. So, we can guess Zexal is slightly further in the future. As I said, GX would be around the current years. People have trash robots to do their work for them. Zexal, however, shows a boom in technology. It was trying to tie into the years it was current, mid-2000s. GX was both slightly technologically advanced, yet held back. Jaden just saved the world last year! So, yeah. GX, ten years later, would be happening… around now. DM was based in the time it was made, early 2000s. While it was slightly more futuristic than the original series, it could be. GX was much more grounded in reality than the following three series. Technology is our BEST WAY to determine the YGO timeline. Zexal obvious takes place sometime AFTER GX, for two reasons. Pegasus was a reoccuring character (and AWESOME)! So placing Zexal is hard, but not entirely impossible. The exact timeline post-GX is VERY fuzzy, because no direct connection exists, like in GX. Certainly Yusei, who never loses a duel, would get a statue devoted to his world saving, right? Well, no. This includes the likes of Dark Magician, Red-Eyes, Neos… but surprisingly no Stardust. Now, admittedly, I haven’t seen his first appearance, BUT, during one of his appearance in season 2, he shows Yuma statues of famous Duelist’s monsters. ![]() However, it’s actually the 3rd, chronologically.įor those who haven’t seen it, there’s a character named Master Roku. I’ve noticed some people seem to think Zexal, being the fourth series, is fourth in the timeline. This seems to be where people get confused. Next in the timeline is, surprisingly, Zexal. Jaden fights the Sacred Beasts, the Society of Light, Yubel and Nightshroud/Darkness, then goes off to be an amazing duelist doing this and that and communicating with spirits and whatevs. It’s been 10 years, sure, but we know it’s been 10 years. GX is the next series, taking place near immediately after DM. Little needs to be said about DM because… yeah. Dueling is fresh and nerdy! YAY! Yugi gets named King of Games by Pegasus and becomes a legend. Obviously, Yu-Gi-Oh, the classic series, is the first. I’ve seen a bit of 5Ds, some of Zexal, and even I can tell where they’re placed in the timeline. The above description came from Who Wants to Know? and Panda Doru, and was edited by yours truly.Okay, so, I figured I’d do a quick little thing today, discussing the Yu-Gi-Oh timeline.Ī lot of people seem to be confused about how the timeline goes and… I don’t really understand why. Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Monster is the second Yu-Gi-Oh season in Japan. Also, the first season of Yu-Gi-Oh in Japan was never shown in the US. Note: One episode was cut from the US release, but it was just an inconsequential "Battle City in Review" episode with no impact on the storyline. Is their trust in "The Heart of the Cards" up to the challenge? Now Yugi and his friends have to pit their hearts and their dueling skills against the forces of darkness in struggles for loved ones, themselves, and ultimately the entire world. Yugi had been a rather ordinary high school sophmore into the Duel Monsters card game.until he unlocked the power of one of the ancient artifacts: the Millennium Puzzle. But now, the game has taken on a very sinister twist. Now in the present day, there is a popular trading card game called Duel Monsters, in which the echoes of the ancient game have been revived. However, when the power got to be too great to control, one wise Pharaoh locked the secret away in seven magical artifacts: a ring, an eye, an ankh-shaped key, a necklace, a rod, a set of scales.and a puzzle. In Ancient Egypt, it is said that the Pharaohs used to engage in duels using magical creatures to foresee the future and determine one's destiny. Is your favorite character lacking a profile?
